Each year, the Ukraine Kyiv Pavilion organizing committee brings something new and vibrant to Folklorama—ensuring that every visit offers a fresh and immersive cultural experience. While our themes evolve, our purpose remains the same: to celebrate the richness of Ukrainian heritage through food, music, storytelling, and shared community traditions. Following the continued success and growth of our “Yarmarok – Ukrainian Village Fair”, we now turn our focus to one of the most powerful expressions of culture—cuisine.
A Deeper Taste of Ukraine
In 2026, we invite you to experience “The True Cuisine of Ukraine”—a celebration of both the dishes you know and love, and those that have quietly faded from everyday tables. Ukrainian cuisine is deeply rooted in the land, shaped by centuries of agricultural life, regional diversity, and the rhythm of the seasons. It is a cuisine built on resourcefulness, preservation, and community—where every ingredient had purpose, and every recipe carried meaning. This year, our Pavilion will explore:
- Familiar favourites that define Ukrainian culinary identity
- Regional specialties from across Ukraine’s diverse landscape
- Forgotten and rediscovered recipes once common in village life
- Traditional preparation methods rooted in wood-fired cooking and домашня кухня (home-style cooking)
From hearty, slow-simmered dishes to delicate, celebratory foods, this is a journey into the true essence of Ukrainian cooking—authentic, soulful, and deeply connected to the land, family, and tradition.
More Than a Meal – A Cultural Story
In Ukrainian culture, food has always been more than sustenance—it is hospitality, ritual, and identity. Meals were historically tied to:
- Seasonal cycles and harvests Religious and festive traditions
- Family gatherings and community celebrations.
Dishes such as borsch, varenyky, and holubtsi are widely recognized, but beyond these staples lies a rich culinary heritage of lesser-known recipes, regional variations, and time-honoured techniques that tell the story of Ukraine’s people. This year, we aim to bring those stories back to the table.
The Yarmarok Lives On – A Culinary Marketplace.
Building on the success of our expanded Yarmarok Marketplace, the Pavilion will once again feature a vibrant “pavilion within a pavilion”—now with an even stronger culinary focus. Guests will be able to explore:
- A true Ukrainian-style market experience with local vendors and artisans
- Freshly prepared street-style foods and some regional representative dishes.
- Opportunities to meet artisans, makers, and cultural bakers.
Live entertainment that continues well beyond the main stage. This dynamic space reflects the historical role of the Yarmarok as a place not only for trade—but for connection, discovery, and celebration.

We’re thrilled to announce that the Ukraine Kyiv Pavilion is officially confirmed for the first festival week -
August 2- 8, 2026!
After the incredible success of 2025, we’re returning with a focus on what makes our Ukrainian Cuisine unique and an expanded focus on the Yarmarok -Farmers Market—bigger than ever to meet the demand from last year.
Tickets will be available June 8th, 2026
But in the meantime maybe you want to step back in time and see some familiar names that represented us in the past.
