Each year, the Ukraine Kyiv Pavilion organizing committee brings something new and vibrant to Folklorama, ensuring that every visit feels like a fresh cultural journey. With ever-evolving themes, we showcase the depth and beauty of Ukrainian heritage through cuisine, music, storytelling, hands-on activities, and our popular cultural display. It’s this commitment to innovation and authenticity that keeps our Pavilion among the largest and most beloved at Folklorama, welcoming thousands of guests annually.

Following the incredible response to last year’s theme, “Yarmarok – A Ukrainian Village Fair,” we’re proud to present Year Two of this immersive celebration—but with some interesting twists.

🎨 In 2025, we invite guests to step inside the traditional Ukrainian homestead, where art and everyday life meet.
Our cultural display will spotlight the many folk art forms that brought warmth, identity, and beauty to rural Ukrainian homes. From vibrant embroidery and intricately painted ceramics to woodcarving, weaving, and decorative textiles, these traditional arts served not only functional purposes, but also passed on generations of stories, symbolism, and spiritual meaning.

What Is a Yarmarok?
If you’ve grown up Ukrainian, you’ve likely heard the word Yarmarok—the Fair. For centuries, these festive village markets were more than just places to barter for goods. They were holidays in themselves: lively gatherings filled with laughter, music, food, color, and celebration. People came from near and far, dressed in their finest, to share in camaraderie and commerce.

The Yarmarok was where traditions came alive: young people sang together, Kobzars and lyre players performed in the streets, and craftspeople from every corner of the region showcased the handiwork that made their villages unique.
